Great St Barts

About

This was once the church of the Augustinian priory founded in 1123 by Rahere, favoured monk of Henry I. The building is a whirlwind history of religious art, from 12th-century Romanesque columns to a grisly Damien Hirst sculpture of a flayed St Bartholomew. A young Benjamin Franklin once worked as a printer in the church's Lady Chapel
